The Department for Environment and Water is a government agency responsible for managing South Australia's rich biodiversity, national parks, botanic gardens, and water resources for the benefits of its citizens and economy. Its vision is to deliver effective, high-quality environmental and conservation services to ensure thriving natural resources, while its mission is protecting, restoring, enhancing, and managing the health and sustainability of South Australia’s environment. Formally established in 2012, with its headquarters located in Adelaide, it has offices throughout the South Australia region to ensure efficient operations and services.
